This volume brings together two earlier manuals for the Dances of Universal Peace, ‘On with the Dance!’ and ‘The Art of Dance leading and Mentoring’.'On with the Dance!' was first published in 2006 and addresses the first steps on the path of dance leading with – as the subtitle says – tips and traps, clues and views. Written in a cookbook style with mainly tips for the outer side of dance leading,'On with the Dance!' focuses on different techniques for leading the Dances.
The inner aspect of the Dances is addressed in 'The Art of Dance Leading and Mentoring', written some ten years later. The mystery of the depth of dance leading lies in the fact that leading the Dances of Universal Peace is working with spiritual energy. Quoting lnayat Khan, you cannot create an atmosphere that doesn't belong to your spirit, so if the dance leader wants to create a spiritual atmosphere, this has to come from within. This asks not for outer technique, but for inner work and inner attunement.
