My Work I have given in your Hand offers the early biographies and some of his earliest hitherto unknown lectures on Sufism, discovered on a French site, specialized in antique magazines, where also the original of Tserclaes’ biography for the first edition of A Message of Spiritual Liberty was found.
These early biographies, all written during Inayat Khan’s lifetime, offer a unique view on what Inayat Khan himself saw as his mission to work for ‘the Cause’ and how his contemporaries saw him.
The early commemorations in this volume, written between 1927 and 1930, expand this image, as they all are written before one could have an overview of the legacy of Inayat Khan’s mission to offer his Sufi Message to the Western world.
As many of the articles in this volume appear in print for the first time, this collection is a welcome addition to the already available biographies.
